Christantus Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their maiden continental adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight passage to the last 16, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This occasion offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive match.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved no match even for a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Youngster Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after racing into the box, but the referee dismissed the protests.
Ex-Arsenal man did not have wait long to find his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's effort had struck the post.
The home side were hanging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for two robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.
Pino Wraps Up the Contest
The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
